SERVICES AND ACTIVITIES:

The main activities of the Institute and its branch is to render techno-economic and managerial consultancy in the field of Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Glass & Ceramic etc. trades to the existing as well as prospective entrepreneurs including training facilities under Entrepreneurship Development, Management Development and Skill Development Programmes.The other important activities of the Institute are conducting District Industrial Potential Survey, NSIC Registration, Joint Capacity Assessment, Export Promotion including training on Export Management & Packaging, participation in international trade fairs, dissemination of trade enquiries etc. Seminars/Workshops and awareness programmes are conducted on different themes like pollution control, energy conservation, WTO, IPR, ISO-9000 etc. .The Institute has also set up a Sub-Contract Exchange and conducts Vendor Development Programmes under ancillarisation programme. Besides technical and survey reports are prepared for SSI Sector.in the state.

Every year District Industrial Potential Surveys are prepared/updated focusing on resource base, infrastructure, existing industries and detailed analysis of products which are techno-economically viable in the identified districts in different parts of the State.
Project Profiles

Project Profiles help the small entrepreneurs in identifying the project to be taken up for production. These project profiles provide basic information, under broad industry groups, on introduction, market potential, basis and presumptions, quality control and standards, implementation schedule, technical aspects, financial aspects including analysis, addresses of machinery and equipment suppliers, etc.

Training in Entrepreneurship & Management

Intensive Motivational  Campaign

SISI Imphal organizes one-day Intensive Campaigns in different parts of the State to motivate and encourage entrepreneurs to set up SSI units. The thrust given in Campaigns is on Steps for Setting Up SSI, Sources of Finance, Assistance Provided by other agencies and Prospective Industries. 

Entrepreneurship Development Programme 

It is a training course on entrepreneurship for 30 participants for a duration of 4 weeks. The focus is on rural, tiny entrepreneurs, weaker section and women. Product-cum-Process oriented EDP like Screen-printing, Food Processing, Electronic Servicing & Repair, Beauty Therapy, Electrical Wiring etc. are regularly organised.

Course Fee :

 Rs.150 for General, ( 50% for SC/ST )

Eligibility :

 Class X Passed, age : 18-35 years

Management Development Programmes 

The course under this programme are designed and conducted keeping in view the local conditions and needs of the target groups. The subjects covered include Industrial Management, specialised management subjects and techno managerial subjects, training programmes on Marketing, Working Capital Management, etc.

Course Fee :

 Rs.100 for General, ( 50% for SC/ST )

Common Facility Servicing Centre Workshop is attached to SISI, Imphal and equipped with modern machine tools as under :

3.      Tool and Cutter Grinder G.T.C. - 28

4.      Milling Machine (HMT) FN 2

5.      Arc Welding Set (3 Phase)

6.   Radial Drilling Machine and Drilling

To impart technical training in -

(a) Skill Development Programmes

The Workshop organises regularly six month courses in MACHINE SHOP PRACTICE.

  • Course Fee :- Rs.600,( 50% for SC/ST)
  • Eligibility :- Class VIII passed
(b) Product-cum-Process Oriented Training Programmes
  • To provide common facilities services to Tiny/SSI/Medium Units
  • To render intensive technical assistance in order to enhance production, improve quality and minimised product cost
  • To provide technical assistance in the field of design, development and manufacturing of jig, fixture, dies and moulds.
(c) Typical job has been undertaken as under :
  • Plastic bottle mould
  • Cutter grinding wire nails
  • Wood turning lathe machine
  • Fabrication of plastic machine
  • Gates and grills
  • Rollers for printing

 

Export promotion & Industrial Exhibition Abroad

Participation in selected international exhibition is organised by SIDO to assist SSI Sector in exhibiting their products without incurring any expenditure besides trainings are organised on export management and export packaging
Assistance to Sick Units:

Viability/Rehabilitation studies for sick SSI units is conducted at minimal charges on the request of financial institutions.
NSIC Registration & Capacity Assesment:

SISI Imphal provides Marketing Assistance to the Small Scale Units through preferential purchase by the Central and State Purchase Organisations by registering them with NSIC. Firms registered with NSIC as SSI Unit will be treated as registered with DGS&D for the purpose of awarding contract
